Eligible participants will be able to choose from the products listed below for their energy efficient retrofits. Product and installation costs up to $1,000 will be paid for by the Ontario Power Authority, through your participating local distribution company.
Inefficient lighting products that can be upgraded through the Power Savings Blitz program include the following. Also listed is the equivalent energy efficient technology.

For eligible customers with electric water heaters, the following installations are also included in the Power Savings Blitz program:

Cost & Energy Savings
In addition to the $1,000 incentive provided by the Ontario Power Authority, participating businesses will save money on electricity costs over the lifetime of the new, energy efficient product.
The energy conserved through efficient lighting systems saves you money at the same time as it reduces environmental impacts associated with the combustion of fossil fuels.

Take Back the Light
Approximately 30 million mercury-containing fluorescent lamps end up in Ontario landfills every year. Once in the environment, mercury can have a significant negative impact on human and animal health.
To ensure that the Power Savings Blitz program in the Cambridge and North Dumfries, Clarington, Guelph, Kitchener-Wilmot, Port Hope, Stratford, Waterloo and Whitby areas does not contribute to this environmental problem, all fluorescent bulbs and ballasts replaced by program partners will be responsibly disposed of through the Take Back the Light program. All useable parts will be recycled and reused and the mercury will be safely stored to prevent it going into landfill.
Take Back the Light is North America's first comprehensive fluorescent lamp recycling program for the industrial, commercial and institutional sector. This program is delivered by the Recycling Council of Ontario and funded by the Ontario Government.
